3M™ CUNO™ Self Cleaning Metal Filter Cartridges are made from stainless steel wire cloth for controlled particle removal efficiency. Our filter cartridges feature steel discs which are stacked in columns with suitable spacers installed between them.
3M™ CUNO™ Self Cleaning Metal Filter Cartridges deliver effective and consistent filtration of fluids where high viscosity, high temperature, or corrosive properties necessitate stainless steel construction.
Standard cartridge range
All 3M CUNO Self Cleaning Metal Filter Cartridges are manufactured from 316 stainless steel discs that are stacked in columns with suitable spacers installed between them; the thickness of which gives the filtration grade.
When the cartridge is rotated wiper blades between the edges of the discs clean out the gaps between the steel discs. Our filter cartridges can either be rotated by hand for occasional cleaning, or rotated by a small electric motor for continuous cleaning. Multiple cartridges can be installed in a single vessel to increase the volume of product being processed.
Vessel design and production
3M West Europe SPSD Hardware team has extensive experience designing and supplying special vessels for these self-cleaning cartridges.
They can be produced to a wide variety of design and construction codes (including ASME U Stamp). Special vessels can range from simple hand operated units up to large motorised multiple cartridge housings mounted on skid units with associated accessories, and with second shell heating jackets.

Housings are routinely built to up to PED 2014/68/CE Category IV, and can be certified to ATEX 2014/34/CE Condition II 2 GD IIC.
Grades
These filter cartridges are available in seven grades ranging from 35 µm to 760 µm nominal.
